Calendar
Classes, programmes and events of the masjids you follow and of the organisation, with reminders.
What it does
- Month view: a grid of the month with coloured events. Use the arrows to move between months and Today to come back.
- List view: the upcoming events one after another. Switch between month and list with the icon at the top right.
- Tap a day to open it as a sheet; use the arrows at the top of the sheet to go to the day before or after.
- Tap an event for its details: time, place, speaker, repeat, the calendar it belongs to, and a Cancelled or Changed label when the masjid has changed it. If money is collected for it, See the collection for this opens the project.
- My calendars (the settings icon at the top right): turn each calendar on or off and choose its reminders.
- Add to my phone's calendar: a private link that keeps these events in Google Calendar or your phone's calendar.
See what's on this week
- Open the Calendar tab.
- In month view, tap a day to see its events, and use the arrows in the day sheet to move day by day.
- Or tap the list icon at the top right to see upcoming events as a list.
- Tap any event for the full details.
Choose your calendars and reminders
- Open the Calendar tab and tap the settings icon at the top right. My calendars opens.
- Untick a calendar to hide its events and stop its reminders.
- For each calendar you keep, pick a reminder: Remind me as the masjid suggests, No reminders, 15 minutes before, 1 hour before, 1 day before, or 1 day and 1 hour before.
- Tap Save at the bottom.
- Reminders arrive in your Notifications list in the app. The web version does not yet send alerts to your phone's lock screen, so for alarms add the calendar to your phone's calendar (next task).
Add the events to your phone's calendar
- Open the Calendar tab and tap the settings icon at the top right.
- Under Add to my phone's calendar, tap Get my calendar link.
- Tap Open in my calendar app and confirm the subscription in your calendar app.
- Or tap Copy link and paste it into Google Calendar (Other calendars → From URL).
- Your phone's calendar now keeps these events up to date by itself, with your phone's own reminders.
- The link is private to you. Don't share it: anyone with it can see your calendar events.
Questions
Why don't I see my masjid's events?
Follow the masjid first, and check My calendars that its calendar is ticked. Some events are only for members of the masjid.
An event repeats every week. Can I hide just one week?
No. You can hide a whole calendar or change its reminders. If the masjid cancels one week, that day shows the event as Cancelled.
